2012 Weekend Event
Mr Benn Open & George Hartley / Graham Cooper Memorial
Organisation of this years annual event is currently underway and we are hoping to make it bigger & better than ever before with the idea of offering something for everyone and to promote the sport tothe best of our ability.
The Track is coming along nicely, with constant maintenance going on right up to the event to ensure the running surface is at its best. We have had a lot of Sun / Rain / Wind and as it currently stands the surface is looking and running great.
Camping for the weekend will go ahead as with previous years, once again this will be free for anyone wishing to stay over and will be from Thursday 13th July to Monday 16th July. There will be spaces available onthe field and on hardstanding.
Entertainment is planned for the Saturday night in the form of a race night with a hotpot supper for everyone who attends. Betting on dog racing (with a pig race thrown infor a bit of fun) will start from 8pm. Proceeds from this event will go towards additional prize money on Sunday, the more bets you place the bigger the prize money for the George Hartley Event.
Trade Stalls at this event will be more than welcome, there is no charge for this, all that we ask is that you book in prior.
Currently we have AJ Dog Coats attending as well asThe Greyhound Data Shop.
Media / Promotion we are privileged to have the company of Racing Post Columnist and Racing Post TV regular Mr Mick Livesey attending our Sunday event to do the presentation. The event will also be covered by the local papers and various photographers.
Refreshments will be available all weekend trackside; Breakfast, Hotdogs, Sandwiches, Cakes, Hot/Cold drinks, also some traditional Lancashire dishes (Black Puddings / Black Peas etc).
